Careers in Public International Law

What is this seminar about?
The dynamic development of international law across so many areas has required more international lawyers. International lawyers are found working on refugee camps, managing international financial organisations, on a government trade mission, in transactional and litigation areas of law firms, arguing and deciding human rights cases, drafting tax legislation, advising environmental non-governmental organisations, enthusing students at universities, and doing a wide variety of other legal and non-legal jobs. Despite this, there are still uncertainties about what an international lawyer is, and what type of careers there can be in international law.
This seminar aims to provide an insight into a range of possible careers as an international lawyer. The speakers have a diversity of backgrounds and experiences, which is of assistance to all those considering a career in international law – whether at the beginning of their professional life or part-way through it.
